Description
Attention, to work with online you need to have a Red VNCI or Original VAS6154 and a laptop!!!
ODIS on your laptop is not required to perform the work!!!
Online access ODIS / VAG ONLINE Login / VAG GEKO Online
GeKo (Geheimnis und Komponentenschutz) is a function provided to users when connecting to the ODIS diagnostic system online and allows them to adapt immobilizer components (e.g., instrument clusters or engine control unit), keys, and parts of the component protection system (e.g., climate control, navigation system, etc.) to the vehicle.
Online access allows you to perform the following actions:
Coding– online coding;
CP– Component protection removal;
IMMO– adaptation of immobilizer components (combinations of devices, engine control unit);
SVM– Software Version Management.
Attention!
Removing the protection of components and any work with the immobilizer functions is possible only if you have the original key: the key that was used when the new car was sold, or the key ordered through an authorized dealer and entered into the database on the server.
If there is no such key, the server will deny access to the database. The fact that the key starts the car does not mean that this key is included in the server database.
It is not possible to update the ECU firmware online. If you are installing a used unit from another car that matches the required one by number but has a different firmware, you need to upload the required firmware yourself using ODIS Engineering. Only then will you be able to replace the unit, code it, or parameterize it via online access.
Otherwise, an error will remain in the unit about the software mismatch and online replacement or parameterization will not be possible.
It is important to realize that when working through the online access, the ODIS program may refuse to perform certain actions; such refusals are not grounds for a refund.
The “new” unit may not correspond to the car’s configuration specified on the server for a particular VIN. For example, after an accident, the headlight is replaced: it was American, now it is European – it will not be possible to encode it online and fill in the parameter, since the European headlight unit will not accept the encoding for the American one.
In order to clear the immobilizer lock after replacing the engine ECU, the unit must be free of tampering with the EEPROM area. If the unit has been cloned and the EEPROM area has been transferred from another unit, an error will occur when you try to clear the lock online.
To release the immobilizer lock after replacing the dashboard: if the immobilizer has been programmatically disabled in the engine ECU, an error will also occur during the online release of the lock.
